wedding co. show - drake hotel - its all in the details

V I N T A G E   D I S H

Our china at Vintage Dish Rental, was on display at the Wedding Co. Show today with 'Bits and Blooms' – so of course I was at the show! Beautiful inspiration for design savvy brides looking for original style ideas. Lots of great vendors to chat with about so many gorgeous event details. I captured some of my favorites to share. So here goes ...

Bits and Blooms Event Planning, Decor and Design are familiar with the expression 'style is in the details' – not one detail was missed. We loved to see our vintage china as part of their presentation!

More attention to detail by Coriander Girl, a full service wedding florist. Everywhere you looked there was layers of interesting elements. Floral arrangements combined with vintage tins, lace, china and glass – all eye candy to make an event special and memorable.

And the gorgeous details continued with Paper and Poste. Calligraphy on orange envelopes and wrap around address labels but most of all I fell in love with the floral envelope liners!

Its all in the detials at Anista Designs. They specialize in modern, vintage-inspired invitations, stationery and paper accessories. Each invitation is more beautiful than the next!

So these were just a few of my favorite things. When I left The Drake, just a few doors east I found some vintage books with ornate decorative binding at Hot Hunt. The icing on my cake for today!

dinner party - vintage gold

V I N T A G E  D I S H

An evening celebration for a small group should be as special as larger events. All reasons to celebrate deserve attention to detail. A grand ball or your own dining room can be transformed to make a memorable evening.

China that you don't see when you eat everyday. Fresh garden blooms arranged in multiple small vases placed down the center of the table. A lace overlay on top of a basic white tablecloth. Nothing extravagant but the whole is so much greater than he sum of the parts.

This golden celebration table was set for ten guests. Vintage china complimented by cut glass vases and contrasted with contemporary silverware - a great combination.

Celebrate all occastions, large or small in vintage style!

vintage rustic wedding - Cambium Farms, Caledon

V I N T A G E  D I S H

I'm always looking for vintage inspiration. Rustic vintage, vintage glam, modern vintage – different ways to enjoy the past styled for the present. So Cambium Farms is a find I have to share.

Celebrations in picturesque barns are all over wedding blogs and Pinterest boards. But finding a barn venue near Toronto is a challenge. Cambium Farms is fifty acres of original charm. Built over a century ago, the barn with gorgeous exposed beams holds up to 250 guests for a dinner reception. The carriage house, along side the barn, for cocktails and the farm house for wedding ceremony preparations complete the picture.

Starting with a great space makes styling a special event easy. Set your tables with vintage china placesettings. Add burlap and lace to white table linens. Remember the details such as menus, place cards, favors for your guests, the cake presentation and signage – it all adds up to rustic vintage perfection.

If you are in the Toronto area, Cambium Farms is an ideal setting for a vintage styled event.  Now – who's planning a barn wedding?

toronto wedding - vintage urban chic

V I N T A G E  D I S H

Vintage Dish was invited to contribute to an gorgeous styled wedding shoot. It was shot at the Berkeley Field House on Queen Street East in Toronto with a talented team of wedding professionals who collaborated on this urban chic styled shoot.

No detail was forgotten, starting with the tables (my favorite of course!). The pretty mismatched chinaware grounded by a rich gold charger made every placesetting special for each guest. Modern ghost chairs offered an wonderful contrast to the vintage table decor. The tablescape was layered and luxurious with an eclectic collection of vintage glassware, china, barnboard signage, flowers and candles. The charming stationery, dramatic bridal gown, decadent sweet table and 'late night' gourmet coffee trailer all added to the urban chic style.

Finally, I can share these images! We have been waiting for Wedluxe to publish them. You can see more from the shoot on their blog post here.

It was great to work with Alanna and Dawn at Eph*ra Event Design, and the rest of the team that brought their expertise to this creative shoot. Thank you to everyone!

high tea wedding with vintage style

V I N T A G E  D I S H

Vintage style has made a niche for itself all over the world. I see many posts from brides, event designers and wedding planners in England, Australia, United States and here in Canada featuring events with style inspiration from the past. Vintage will continue to make new fashion statements as interest in its items continues around the globe.

A beautiful wedding with a high tea theme. A lovely touch of tradition to celebrate a special day. This couple was married on a private property in Dunsborough, Western Australia, last November. No detail was missed – a celebration infused with elegance and sophistication. The tea table is styled with such grace, incorporating tiered tea stands, pedestal cake stands and serving platters – all rich with vintage style. How will you incorporate vintage into your special day?
