bridal shower tea party

V I N T A G E  D I S H

A beautiful bride-to-be, a Caledon garden, a sunny afternoon and vintage china.  The recipe for a perfect bridal tea.

The hostess put alot of thought into all the style details for her friend's bridal tea. In addition to the vintage china to match the pretty pink and gold color palette, she created light-weight, blow in the breeze chandeliers. Each one was constructed with outdoor food screens, sprayed gold, trimmed with pearls and surrounded with hanging crystals. The bejeweled tree branches added a delicate elegance to the celebration.

The favors continued the tea party theme with demitasse spoons attached to a gift bag filled with pink macarons – a mini take-home tea party for each guest.

Every bride needs a friend with this much style and creativity to make special moments in her life so memorable.

My friend just got engaged and we'll be planning a shower soon. She works in Fashion and loves vintage, but I'm not sure which vintage time period to go with. Love the simple yet elegant look that you came up with here. A tea party theme for the summer sounds perfect. That shouldn't be too difficult of a theme to coordinate from start with the Bridal Shower Invitations all the way through to the wedding hall decoration planning. The bridal shower theme generally does need to match with final wedding theme, right?

Hi Hailey
Congratulations to you friend on her recent engagement! Planning a celebration is always exciting.

A bridal tea is a classic, elegant way to honour the new bride. It can be formal or relaxed. The setting, decor and time of day all influence the tone of the event. The invitation can set the tone as well.

A garden setting is beautiful. An indoor space either a private home or a rented venue are also good options. I have also seen the vintage china used in very modern event spaces and the contrast is absolutely gorgeous. One sets off the other - it keeps it fresh not old. Vintage but not stuffy!
In addition to the tea or dinner placesettings - there are so many ways to incorporate vintage in creative ways. For example the floral arrangements for your tables - put the flowers in teacups or teapots, use pressed glass compotes or sherbert cups for flowers clustered in small groupings. Garden fresh flowers and pretty vessels are a simple DIY. Depression glass in the soft colors looks beautiful. Milk glass also! Lots of options all look beautiful on simple white linens,

The bridal shower theme can be different than the wedding theme. Each can have its own personality. One is for the 'ladies' to celebrate together. An event for 'the girls"! And it keeps the wedding special on its own.

Haily, have fun with the planning of your friend's wedding celebrations and ENJOY!
