the thrill of the 'hunt'
June 8, 2012 V I N T A G E D I S H

You either love it or hate. Personally, I love it. Its such a 'rush' to stumble upon a pile. A pile of what you never know but you know its time to roll up your sleeves and jump in! Why? - because you never know what you'll find!
Some people see a pile of junk. Others see treasures and new possibilities. 'Finds' to reinvent waiting to be given new purpose or a new home.
These images are from a Paris flea market from 'Such Pretty Things' blog. I may not be in Paris this weekend. But I got notification about a 'must go to' contents sale and I'll be at my favorite antique market for the first time this season. Because you just never know!
(I'll let you now if I uncover any treasures.)

This chair is outstanding – I'd recover it with a contemporary, colorful cut-velvet or simply a neutral linen.

Hi there
What a shame you're in the US and I'm in the UK. You are doing exactly what my friend and I have started doing here and sound just as excited about it. Trawling the salvage and antique markets, the clearance shops, charity shops and boot sales, is turning up such amazing finds. I love it. Your website and Facebook page are stunning; Good luck and let me know how you go.

Hi Jo
Thank you so much for the message and your kind words. I'm actually in Canada! in Toronto to be more exact. I'd love to be in the UK, so much gorgeous china. Do you have a website? What is the name of your business? Is your focus on vintage china or all things vintage?
I love the 'hunt' for treasures, please share your terrific finds! Love to see all that you discover. Please keep in touch.
